Lake County Search and Rescue
Proceeds from Tour de Outback 2024 will be going to Lake County Search and Rescue (SAR): a non-profit organization of skilled volunteers, whose mission is to serve our community by supporting local and regional officials in emergency response. SAR is dedicated to locating and rescuing missing people and work to provide a rapid coordinated response to emergency situations.
In Oregon, SAR operations are the legal responsibility of the respective County Sheriff and generally follow procedures outlined by the Oregon State Sheriff’s Association (OSSA). Lake County SAR is also a member of California- Oregon Regional Search and Rescue (CORSAR), whose mission is to foster regional communications to provide and coordinate personnel, equipment, education, and training for the effective delivery of Search and Rescue services. CORSAR provides trained search and rescue personnel, search management, and other related resources to federal, state, and local authorities to further safeguard and save lives.
